Letter: Israel’s actions are self-defeating?

The Holocaust was an unspeakable horror and nothing justifies Hamas’ October atrocity, not even Israel’s decades long systematic ill treatment of the Palestinians. Israel’s war to irradicate Hamas may succeed in the short term, but will it in the long run?

Won’t their brutal tactics and history of illegal conduct only deepen the grievances and hatred that spawn fanatics like Hamas? And will U.S. aid policy ironically hasten Israel’s demise?
