Concord’s Dalton Mutz finished third in the boys’ 200 meters and Grace Devanny finished third in the girls’ 400 meters, leading a strong contingent of local track athletes at the New England Championships at the University of New Hampshire on Saturday.

Mutz ran the 200 in 22.13 seconds and also finished seventh in the 100 in 11.24 seconds.

Devanny clocked a time of 56.31 seconds in the 400. She also finished 11th in both the 200 and the 4x100 relay with Samantha Ossoff, Kaitlin Jelley and Sarah Waite.

Other local top 10 finishers were Concord’s Forest MacKenzie (seventh 3,200) and Colin Conery (10th 800), Belmont’s Hunter Dupuis (seventh 400) and Inter-Lakes’ Ian Daly (seventh 800) for the boys and Newfound’s Jasmine Peterson (fifth javelin) and Coe-Brown’s Kathleen Collins (sixth shot put) for the girls.

Winnacunnet’s Billy Powers (110 hurdles and 300 hurdles) and Pinkerton’s John King (javelin) were the only New England title winners from the Granite State.

The top-six finishers in each event at last weekend’s Meet of Champions qualified for New Englands.
