  • Nikki Rivers of Penacook took her late lunch hour to look at some of the dogs at the Pope Memorial SPCA on Thursday and found "Smitty," a beagle mix. Rivers saw him online but it was love at first sight when she and co-worker came and checked him out in person. Rivers was just waiting outside while her application papers were being processed.
