Hole-in-one

Gregory Ardine collected a $5,000 gift certificate from M.J. Harrington Jewlers after he connected for a hole-in-one at the Black Fly Open at the Country Club of New Hampshire in Sutton. It was the first ever hole-in-one for Ardine, and just the second time the hole-in-one prize was claimed at the Black Fly Open.

JV results

Ryan Merchant pitched seven innings and struck out three without allowing an earned run as the Concord JV baseball team beat Manchester Memorial, 8-3. Sal Rinaldi had two hits to lead the Crimson Tide offense while Adrien Kennedy, Thomas Duhaime, Eflio Shtino and Chase Langevin each had a hit

The Concord JV girls’ lacrosse team beat Keene, 11-5. Ananya Nadeau, Emily Forward, Erin Doherty (four groundballs), Gea Asher, Maggie Connolly, Nicole Toler and Quinn Daniels (five draw controls) all scored for the Tide, and Jill Curley played well in goal.

The Hopkinton JV girls’ lacrosse team defeated Pelham, 11-3. Emily Metzger (four goals), Sophia Staples-Roy (three goals) and Sophie Locke (two goals) led the Hopkinton offense. mid-fielders Midfielders Sydney Stockwell and Fiona Bean and defenders Lilia Klingler and Maddie Rhynhart also played well for the Hawks.

Middle school results

Behind solid pitching and seven stolen bases from Connor Wachsmuth (two RBI), Bow Memorial beat Sanborn Middle School, 12-4. Ryan Leonard (two RBI, four stolen bases), Jack Hyslop (RBI, three stolen bases, defense) and Evan Provost (great defense behind the plate) all played well for Bow.

Memorial also had a 1-1 tie with Hampstead Middle School that saw Connor Treybig pitch well and Nick Aubrey throw around some leather in the outfield.

H-D fall sports

Hillsboro-Deering High will have signups for the 2017 fall sports season on June 6 at 2:20 p.m. The girls’ soccer team will meet in 222, golf in 221, girls’ volleyball in the cafeteria and boys’ soccer, bass fishing and cross country will meet in the gymnasium.

Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Concord Crew is offering a learn-to-row program for middle school and high school students. No experience is needed. Session 1 is June 26-July 20 and Session 2 is July 24-August 17. UNH women’s lacrosse summer camp will be held June 26-28. The camp is open to girls entering grades 6-12 in the 2017-18 academic year. There are commuter and overnight options. Cost is $375 for the commuter option and $450 for overnight campers. There is a group/team discount available for overnight campers. Hawks Softball Camp, run by Hopkinton varsity softball coach Dan Meserve, is open to all area girls ages 7-13. The camp runs June 26-29 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Hopkinton High School. UNH women’s basketball camp is now accepting registrations for girls in grades 2-9 as of the fall of 2017. Session One will run June 26-30. Session Two will run from July 10-14. UNH field hockey summer camps are now accepting registrations for three 2017 camps: session I (June 28-July 1), session II (July 5-8) and a youth clinic (July 6-7). Session I and II are open to junior high and high school students (as of fall 2017). There are overnight ($475) and commuter ($375) options for both sessions. The youth clinic will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is open to ages 5-12. The cost is $35 per day or $60 for both days. Southern New Hampshire University 37th Annual New Hampshire All-Star Basketball School will be hosted by SNHU head basketball coach Stan Spirou. Shooter’s Gold Basketball Camps will be held in six different towns around the state. Gilford Middle School and Hooksett will be Shooter’s Gold sites for boys and girls in grades 1-8 during the week of July 17-21.

UNH women’s soccer camps are now open for registration. The 2017 Junior Wildcat Girls Soccer Camp will be held from July 10-13. All female players in grades 1-5 (as of the 2017-18 academic year) are invited to register. Each day runs from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. This session costs $180. The 2017 UNH Girls Soccer Overnight Camp will be held from July 16-19. This session is open to all female player in grades 6-12 (as of the 2017-18 academic year). Crimson Tide Summer Cheerleading Camp hosted by Concord High School cheerleaders will be held from July 10-14. IHB Youth Baseball Camp to benefit Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth will be held July 10-14 at Pembroke Academy. The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 6-13. Concord Flyers girls track and field program will be opening the season with a practice on May 31 at Memorial Field in Concord from 5:30-7 p.m. All girls in grades 3-8 who are interested are welcome to attend. Practices normally take place on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. that run through late July. Practice meets are on Sundays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and competitive meets are on Thursday evenings at Livingston Park in Manchester. Registration fee for new team members is $90. Concord High School fall sports meetings for students entering grades 10-12 interested in participating in a fall sport must attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the high school. Meetings for the teams will meet in the following rooms: girls’ cross country (room 4027), boys’ cross country (room 4015), field hockey (W2013), golf (W2042), football (gym), girls’ soccer (W3087), boys’ soccer (W3090), spirit (W2047), volleyball (W2037). Any eighth graders at Rundlett who are intested in playing a fall sport at Concord High this fall must attend an information meeting on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. at Rundlett. Girls will meet in the New Activity Room and boys will meet in the Multipurpose Room. Anyone interested in playing football should meet in the RMS Gym.
