Middle school results

The Concord Middle School football team lost to Gilford, 14-6, in the playoffs. Guy Kabate scored the only touchdown for Concord on a pass from Trevor Smith. Concord finished the season at 7-2.

College standouts

Joanne Coffey (Merrimack) tallied 20 assists, 10 digs and five kills but the Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team lost to American International College, 3-0.

Plymouth State University freshman Jacob Szulc (Concord) caught a 48-yard touchdown pass for the Panthers in a 28-7 victory over Massachusetts Maritime.

Sophomore setter Megan Bailey (Canterbury) delivered 21 assists for the Plymouth State University volleyball team in a 3-0 loss to the University of Massachusetts in the LEC championship game.

Franklin Pierce University cross country senior B.J. Smith (Concord) finished 27th (32:34.6) in the NCAA Championship East Regional at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Saturday. Smith was the only member of the Ravens to finish inside the top 40.

Julia Cormier (Northwood) paced the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team with a 59th-place finish at the NCAA Championship East Regional at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. Cormier’s finish helped the Ravens take 16th place.

Tilton results

The Tilton School field hockey team played to a 1-1 draw against Proctor Academy on Saturday. Tia Raspante scored the lone goal for the Rams off an assist from Shannon Colbert in the second half.

The Tilton School boys’ soccer team lost to Tabor Academy, 4-0. Wani Mwangu, Jason Bogacz, Oliver Dinowitz, David Guyotte, Connor Pope, Steve Lee, Nick McCosh, Noah Eisenberg, Deano Asprogiannis, Tommy Wendt and Matt Baronas all played their final home games.

The Proctor Academy girls’ soccer team battled with Gould Academy, but finished in a 1-1 tie.

On its home field, the Proctor Academy football team shutout Hyde School, 34-0.

Colby-Sawyer results

Abbie Sansoucy broke a scoreless tie in the 64th minute to lead the Colby-Sawyer College women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over New England College Pilgrims and its fourth straight North Atlantic Conference championship.

NHTI results

Michael DeJesus scored 15 points with five assists and four rebounds for the NHTI men’s basketball team in a 75-68 loss to Williamson College of the Trades.

The NHTI women’s basketball team opened their season with a 70-57 win over Bristol Community College on Saturday. Hayley Jakubens (Gilford) scored 11 points with three rebounds and four assists.

Youth hockey

The Concord Capitols Orthopedics Bantam 2 team lost a tight game to the Billerica, Mass. Bantam 1 team, 2-1. Brian McDonough scored off assists from Max Lemaire and Donovan Hayes. The Capitals also lost to the Berlin Bantam 1 team with Jacob Orlen scoring the only goal.

The Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at both the Gilford High School and Gilford Middle School gymnasiums. The fundraising event is a co-ed tournament for high-school age students through adults. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society as well as the Amy Annis Scholarship. Entry fee is $100. Hillsboro-Deering High School fall sports awards will given out on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the HDHS gym. After awards each team will go to its own breakout room. Breakout rooms are as follows: girls’ soccer (gymnasium), boys’ soccer (library), volleyball (cafeteria), cross country (room 102), golf (room 221), bass fishing (gymnasium).

Franklin High School fall sports banquet hosted by the FHS Boosters Club will be on Thursday in the FHS cafeteria. A pot luck meal will be served at 6 p.m. The football, soccer and field hockey teams are responsible for main dishes and the volleyball and cheer teams are responsible for desserts.

UNH ski program, in conjunction with SkiNH.com and Learfield, is offering a limited number of discount ticket packages for alpine and Nordic ski areas throughout the state for the 2016-17 season. The Concord Capital City Basketball Academy’s Winter Sunday League is scheduled to begin every Sunday evening from Dec. 4 through Feb. 26. at Bishop Brady High School. The Elementary League will run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. with the Middle School League running from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Day skills clinic will be offered on Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon at Bishop Brady High School, and a two-day Thanksgiving Camp will run on Nov. 23 and Nov. 25 at Bishop Brady.
