A sad circus

I am very sad to write this letter.

My son and I were driving by the circus after playing at Kelley Park in Bristol. Kelley Park is located on a one-way street.

My son is on the autism spectrum. He doesn’t speak. We parked the car by Newfound Memorial Middle School and walked over for funnel cakes. We made eye contact with the two elephants, one camel and one zebra who were enclosed in a small area.

Thank goodness it was not a humid night. How sad such beautiful animals were in Bristol for a fundraiser.

The Lions Club does wonderful works for the Newfound Area. It seems to me they could have chosen an alternative fundraiser, a non-animal circus.

I forget who said you can judge a society by how it treats its animals.
