La Leche League celebrates moms' night out

Last modified: Thursday, August 26, 2010
Wow. The third annual Mom's Summer Serenity Evening benefit for Concord Area La Leche League was a smashing success. The recipe for this year's success began with sublime new digs at Lotions 'n Potions on Main Street, to which generous donors added a bevy of silent auction items. All funds raised will be used to further LLL's mission to provide education, information, support and encouragement to Concord area women who choose to breastfeed.

Lotions 'n Potions graciously opened their doors, offered gratis massage, makeup application and foot treatments, and contributed a basket of pampering goodness to the silent auction.

Auction proceeds were more than double this year, and for that we owe an enormous debt of gratitude to returning sponsors At Om Yoga, Gibson's Bookstore, Gondwana Divine Clothing Co., Imagination Village, Lia Sophia/Amy Daniels, Meghan's Chocolates, Moby Wrap/Jamie Hupfer, Petite Fleur Doulas, Real Green Goods, Sage Living LLC and Wintergreen Botanicals. A huge welcome and great big thank you to new auction donors, including A. Little Confection, Miranda Hassett, Little Sweet Pea Boutique, Polka Dots and Sal's Pizza.

For the third year in a row, ladies had the sweet treat of noshing on Cafe Indigo's famous carrot cake, which joined other yummy offerings donated by Shaw's Supermarkets.

Merci beaucoup to our rocking event planning team members, who displayed commitment, creativity and grace under pressure: Kristen Cole, Miranda Hassett, Jamie Hupfer, Tracey Lesser and Amy O'Brien.

We look forward to throwing open the doors again next year and welcoming our attendees and sponsors to the fourth annual Mom's Summer Serenity Evening!
