The warm weather didn’t just bring out the T-shirts and jeans; it also caused local dairy bar Arnie’s Place off Loudon Road to open a day early.

Typically, Arnie’s opens the Thursday before February vacation to “get the momentum going,” owner Tom Arnold said. This year, however, with Wednesday reaching temperatures of in the 70s, the drive-up burger and ice cream spot decided to take advantage of the warm weather.

The less-stellar weather expected for the rest of the week was unlikely to dissuade customers, Arnold said:

“We’ve had people waiting in line with a foot of snow on the ground.”
