Hot topic: Town Administrator Karen Hambleton said the renovation of the Bradford Town Hall, on the warrant again this year, has been a much-discussed topic. Residents will vote to raise $861,000 for the restoration of the historic building. The select board and budget committee recommend this article.

Budget: The proposed operating budget is about $2 million, up $61,090 from last year, and largely due to an emergency bridge repair that must be made, Hambleton said.

If approved, the tax rate will go up an estimated 30 cents per $1,000 assessed property value, which is about $60 on a $200,000 home.

Noteworthy articles: A petitioned warrant article will be voted on to approve the investigation with Warner regarding the possibility of adjusting the town line on Bradford’s southeast corner to incorporate a portion of Warner into Bradford.

Residents will also vote on an article to authorize the select board to negotiate joint efforts with surrounding towns to reduce departmental budgets.

Contested races: Kathleen Bigford and Randy Thompson are competing for a one-year seat on the scholarship committee.

When and where: The town meeting will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Kearsarge Regional Elementary School. Ballot voting will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the town hall.
