Fiery crash ends with bench warrant arrests

Tuesday, November 08, 2016

Two Bristol residents have been charged following a fiery car crash Sunday morning.

A Franklin police dispatch report shows the incident was called in at 10:08 a.m. on Hill Road. Emergency responders found a 2001 Honda Odyssey van after it crashed and caught fire.

A photo posted to Facebook shows the van stopped horizontally in the lane across from Franklin Veterinary Clinic. The front end appears to be heavily damaged by fire and a broken windshield. All the car windows are missing, too.

The report noted there was an injury resulting from the crash, though no specific details were available. The report also shows that the driver, Robert Blake, 42, of Bristol, and one of the passengers, Alisha Fletcher, 27, also of Bristol, were arrested on two and one electronic bench warrants, respectively. Blake was released on $500 cash bail, and Fletcher was released on $500 personal recognizance bail.

The third passenger, David Redman, 59, of Bristol, was not charged.

Blake’s license was suspended, according to the dispatch report, and the van did not belong to him. There was no indication as to what Fletcher was charged with in the report.

Following the incident, the van had to be towed away.

Franklin police provided the dispatch report but did not return a request for further comment by press time.
