‘Monitor’ to host candidate forum Tuesday

Tuesday, October 24, 2017

Candidates in contested city and school district races will take the stage this week to talk about issues facing Concord in the upcoming municipal elections.

The Monitor is hosting a candidates’ night on Tuesday in the Concord High School McAuliffe Auditorium from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event will consist of three forums moderated by Monitor editor Steve Leone and Monitor editorial board member Laura Kiernan.

Candidates will also answer questions from the audience, before delivering brief closing remarks.

Audience members can submit their questions in writing at the event, or in advance by contacting the Monitor via email at news@cmonitor.com.

The night will be divvied up, with mayoral candidates and at-large city council candidates taking the stage from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m.; school board candidates from 7:30 to 8:20 p.m.; and city council candidates in contested wards from 8:30 to 9:20 p.m.

The event will be put on in conjunction with Concord TV, which will film and rebroadcast the event; and the Concord School District, which has agreed to provide the venue and equipment.
