The Gale School in Belmont was named one of New Hampshire Preservation Alliance’s “Seven to Save” this year. The Victorian Stick-style building was built in 1864 by Cyrus Norris and named for Napoleon B. Gale. The town and Shaker Regional School District have for years debated what to do about the abandoned structure. The nonprofit Save Our Gale School Committee is now tasked with raising enough money to relocate and rehabilitate the shuttered building.
