Bishop Brady’s Sam Will missed nearly two months this season due to injury. Her return late in the year couldn’t have come at a better time.

The senior guard and pivotal piece to the Bishop Brady girls’ basketball team helped the Green Giants advance to Tuesday’s Division II semifinal against No. 13 John Stark by scoring her 1,000th career point and downing top-seeded Portsmouth, 55-48, in Friday’s quarterfinal game.

Will finished with 24 points to lead the eighth-seeded Giants past the Clippers, who were searching for their third straight trip to the semifinals.

Will also overwhelmed No. 9 Bow in the opening round on Feb. 27, scoring a team-high 27 points in a 58-41 victory over the Falcons.

The semifinal between Bishop Brady and John Stark is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University.
