Highlights:  Hopkinton starting pitcher Nate Windhurst pitched well through two innings, allowing just two runs, but the Bears tallied four more runs in the third. The Hawks managed just one hit and couldn’t take advantage of Newfound’s mistakes in the field. The Bears’ centerfielder made four huge catches in the gaps to prevent Hopkinton from reaching base. Tyler Czarkowski pitched well in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two in 1.1 innings.

The Hawks led 3-0 in the third, but the Bears took advantage of Hopkinton’s lineup changes to claim the victory.

Highlights: The Hawks took a 3-1 after the first quarter, but the Cougars clawed their way to a 4-3 halftime lead. Kearsarge came out firing in the third and took a 6-3 lead, but from then on it was all Hopkinton. Tough transition play and opportunistic scoring gave Hopkinton the edge, but the Cougars didn’t make it easy and had some near misses that almost brought the game back to a tie.
