Here are just some of the unique indoor experiences available in New Hampshire.

SEE Science Center

For loads of fun with a little learning sneaking in, visit the SEE Science Center at 200 Bedford Street in Manchester’s historic Millyard district. With the freedom to touch and interact while exploring the exhibits at the SEE Science Center, adults and children alike enjoy hands-on learning. Experience the novelty of freezing your shadow, marvel as you throw air across the room, and feel forces and the effect they have on certain objects. With exhibits on sound, electricity, forces, light, momentum, and more, this learning will engage all of your senses. SEE Science Center also features the BiologYou! exhibit, with opportunities to learn and experience things in the realm of human biology and biotechnology. Avid lovers of LEGO® building blocks, as well as more casual observers, will be captivated by the expansive LEGO® Millyard Project, a model depicting a 1900s version of Manchester’s own millyard, using more than 3 million LEGO® pieces.

The SEE Science Center is open seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is $12per person ages 3 and up, and SEE Members are admitted for free. Reservations are recommended, and for more information, visit online a see-sciencecenter.org

New Hampshire Telephone Museum

One museum which is a surprising “can’t miss” is the New Hampshire Telephone Museum at One Depot Street in Warner.

We all use phones in our daily life, but seldom think about the ways this important tool has changed over the years. For some, seeing some of the earlier – and earliest – versions of the telephone may be nostalgic, and evoke stories of telephone adventures and memories over the years. For others, it can serve as a first time hands-on education in the ways this technology has evolved.

The displays at the museum are far from dusty relics, but are in many cases those which can be touched and examined, complete with stories and information provided informally by the staff – or, formally if you pay a small additional charge for a docent-led tour.

The museum is open to visitors Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is: Seniors 65+ $6 ($9 with tour) Adults 18-64 $7 ($10 with tour) and Students Grades K-12 $5 ($8 with tour).

Climaxe Throwing

When you’re ready to flex those muscles and try your skill at something new, plan to visit Climaxe Ax Throwing, an ax throwing venue in Belmont. Climaxe Ax provides a relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere, and encourages participants aged 10 and up to try their hand at throwing an axe toward a bulls-eye, and with other competitive games and projects.

Axe throwing is a fun activity for a variety of skill levels, and is a relatively easy sport to learn. Even if you’ve never tried throwing in the past, by the end of a session, you will have begun to get your basic “throw” down.

Axe throwing can be a surprisingly good workout, and is a great way to socialize, while guaranteeing far from the boring photo opportunities.

Climaxe Throwing is located at 12 Old State Rd, Unit A in Belmont. For more information, or to book your experience, visit online at climaxethrowing.com or call 603-527-8403.
