Lynch’s goal gives Monarchs 3-1 series lead

Zac Lynch scored the game-winning goal 4:52 in the third period for the Manchester Monarchs as they took a 3-1 lead in their first-round Kelly Cup Playoffs series against the Adirondack Thunder on Thursday.

Lynch’s goal gave the Monarchs a 2-1 lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Sam Brittain made 29 saves, giving up the only goal at the 15:46 mark of the first period.

Ashton Rome also provided a goal and Matt Leitner tallied his third assist of the postseason for Manchester, which plays at Adirondack for Game 5 on Saturday night.
