With the start of a new calendar year, new art exhibits are popping up across Concord.

Black and White Encore

At the League of N.H. Craftsmen Gallery in Concord, check out a juried exhibit of work created in shades of only black and white (with the occasional pop of an accent color.)

On display, you’ll see wood folk art, fiber wall hangings, placemats, African ceremonial pieces, photography, clothing, glass and clay vases, sculptures and more.

A reception will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through March 28; gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Art in Bloom

The League of N.H. Craftsmen will partner with the Concord Garden Club for the 16th annual “Art and Bloom” show on Jan. 19 and 20, which will feature floral designs inspired by the “Black and White Encore” exhibit.

A reception for the floral show will be Jan. 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Our Colorful World

The New Hampshire Art Association has changed up its display at 2 Pillsbury St. “Out Colorful World” features the work of photographer Cynnie Irwin and painter Gail Allen.

Bright, vibrant colors of travels and gardens provide respite from the cold winter days.

The art will be on display through February and accessible Monday through Thursday 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Pigs in a Poke

Among his other work, he has illustrated and authored two collections of “Pigs in a Poke.” For more information, visit pigsinapoke.com.

The images will be on display through February. The work is available to be seen Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on some Saturdays. Call 224-2508, to check.
