A former employee at a Northfield youth center is charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl and sending her sexually explicit images of himself.

Court documents show that Fred Parker Lucy III, 32, of Goffstown pleaded not guilty on July 13 to eight felony counts and one misdemeanor count in Merrimack County District Court. He was indicted by a grand jury in June, with all the charges stemming from the week of July 17, 2015 to July 24, 2015.

Indictment documents show Lucy is accused of having oral sex with a 15-year-old girl, fondling her, and sending her photos and videos of his genitals.

The Merrimack County Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case, and County Attorney Scott Murray said Friday that the charges were jointly investigated by his office, the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office and Northfield Police Department.

“This was a direct indictment by the Merrimack County Grand Jury,” Murray added, indicating no arrest was made.

He declined to elaborate further on the case.

Lucy was previously an employee at Spaulding Youth Center, where children and adults aged 5 to 21 receive services through educational, residential, therapeutic and foster care programs.

Spaulding Youth Center President and CEO Jim Clements said Lucy “left approximately one year ago.” Clements didn’t elaborate, citing personnel privacy, though Lucy’s LinkedIn page indicates he was a shift leader there since 2008.

When asked whether the alleged sexual assaults and indecent exposure incidents took place at Spaulding Youth Center, Clements deferred to the Merrimack County Attorney’s Office. He did add that all staff, parents, guardians and local education agencies had been notified when Lucy was indicted last month.

Clements said Spaulding Youth Center is handling the situation “transparently, thoroughly, honestly and professionally.”

Lucy is currently listed online as a head coach at CrossFit Bedford, where programs for adults and teens are offered. A call to the fitness program went to a voicemail recorded by the program’s assistant coach, and a request for comment was not returned.

CrossFit Bedford’s Facebook page shows a photo of Lucy lifting weights there as recently as July 2.

Lucy’s attorney, Paul Maggiotto, couldn’t confirm whether Lucy still worked there or not. He added of the pending case, “We look forward to having his day in court. Fred adamantly denies these allegations.”

Following his arraignment this month, Lucy was released on $30,000 personal recognizance bail on conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim, didn’t possess firearms or weapons and refrain from excessive use of alcohol and any use of illegal drugs.

Lucy’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 2, and his trial is currently planned for March 2017.
