Fear cars, notshooting range

I am a resident of Hopkinton with three children in Hopkinton schools, and I am writing in full support of the proposed Warner indoor shooting range. The concern that children would be endangered by running past the facility is without merit.

As a longtime runner of Hopkinton roads, I have often feared being hurt by inattentive drivers. However, I have not once experienced fear for my safety while at shooting ranges across the country in hundreds of professional, recreational and competitive outings. The students of Hopkinton might face danger as they do their training runs, but it would far more likely come from their neighbors’ cars than from the range.
