Babe Ruth softball

The Concord National’s Beckett Glass Seniors softball team capped off an undefeated season by winning the Martel Cup after defeating Hooksett’s Edward Jones, 3-0. Alice Rosenberg tossed a complete-game, no-hitter for Concord while the defense was anchored by Myana Keusch and Emily Mitchell.

Concord tennis

The Concord City ‘A’ tennis tournament will be held at the Bow Brook Club from July 10 to July 16. Singles and doubles competition is open to any male resident of Concord or its surrounding towns, as well as members of the club. Baseball camp

The 19th annual Hawks Baseball Camp only has a few spots remaining. The camp is scheduled to run from June 27 to June 30th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The camp is looking for players ages 7-15. Contact Dave Chase at 4chasteam@comcast.net to register.

Golf

Ray Steenbeke and Lee Blossom edged the field in the annual Over-Under Tournament at Concord Country Club on Saturday. The two combined to shoot 10-under par 60 in the best-ball format. There were five teams tied for second with rounds of 64. In the women’s division, Jean VerPlanck and Laura Turner won with scores of 9-under par 63. Andy Jalbert and Joann Feldman took second.

Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Pembroke Recreation tennis lessons are being offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from this Monday through July 19. Juniors in grades 3 and under will go from 4-4:45 p.m. and grades 4-8 will run from 5-6 p.m. Adult lessons will run from 6:15-7:15 p.m. The cost for junior is $35 (resident) and $45 (non-resident and for adults it’s $40 (resident) and $50 (non-resident. Registration forms are available at Pembroke town Hall and should be turned in by Friday. For more information call 848-9677.

Rip City Basketball Camp at NHTI is this Monday-Friday, Girls Point Guard/Post Player Camp is June 25-27, Boys Point Guard/Post Player Camp is at NHTI from June 28-30 and the 24th annual Specialty Basketball Camp is July 23-27.

UNH women’s lacrosse summer camp will be held June 26-28. The camp is open to girls entering grades 6-12 in the 2017-18 academic year. There are commuter and overnight options. Cost is $375 for the commuter option and $450 for overnight campers. There is a group/team discount available for overnight campers. Hawks Softball Camp, run by Hopkinton varsity softball coach Dan Meserve, is open to all area girls ages 7-13. The camp runs June 26-29 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Hopkinton High School. Bow Recreation youth basketball camp will be held for children entering grades 1-4 on June 26-30 from 9 a.m.-noon at Bow Elementary School. Pre-registration is required. Call 228-2222.

UNH women’s basketball camp is now accepting registrations for girls in grades 2-9 as of the fall of 2017. Session One will run June 26-30. Session Two will run from July 10-14. UNH field hockey summer camps are now accepting registrations for three 2017 camps: session I (June 28-July 1), session II (July 5-8) and a youth clinic (July 6-7). Session I and II are open to junior high and high school students (as of fall 2017). There are overnight ($475) and commuter ($375) options for both sessions. The youth clinic will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is open to ages 5-12. The cost is $35 per day or $60 for both days. Southern New Hampshire University 37th Annual New Hampshire All-Star Basketball School will be hosted by SNHU head basketball coach Stan Spirou. Shooter’s Gold Basketball Camps will be held in six different towns around the state. Forms are printable from hogancamps.com along with information, tuition and other important facts about the camps. July 10-13 at Littleton High School, July 10-14 at Inter-Lakes Elementary School in Meredith. Gilford Middle School and Hooksett will be Shooter’s Gold sites for boys and girls in grades 1-8 during the week of July 17-21.

UNH women’s soccer camps are now open for registration. The 2017 Junior Wildcat Girls Soccer Camp will be held from July 10-13. All female players in grades 1-5 (as of the 2017-18 academic year) are invited to register. Each day runs from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. This session costs $180. The 2017 UNH Girls Soccer Overnight Camp will be held from July 16-19. This session is open to all female player in grades 6-12 (as of the 2017-18 academic year). Crimson Tide Summer Cheerleading Camp hosted by Concord High School cheerleaders will be held from July 10-14. IHB Youth Baseball Camp to benefit Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth will be held July 10-14 at Pembroke Academy. The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 6-13. Concord High School fall sports registrations will be open through Aug. 1. Athletes must register online within this timeframe.

Concord Recreation boys middle school basketball league will be held Sundays from June 25-July 30 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Green Street Community Center. League is 3-vs-3 and is for boys in grades 6-8.

Concord Little League is now accepting applications for its month-long summer league for children 8-12 from Concord and the surrounding areas. Cost is $35 and includes a MLB replica t-shirt and hat. Concord Cannons Elite Baseball League Travel Program will be conducting tryouts for the 2017-2018 season on Aug. 12 for ages 10U-12U at NHTI in Concord from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tryout cost is $30. Included in the 10U-12U tryout fee is two pre-tryout workouts with Program Director Bryan Caruso on Aug. 8 and Aug. 10 at Concord Sports Center. The 13U-16U Cannons tryouts will be held on Aug. 13 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at NHTI.
