Middle school results

The Hopkinton Middle School girls’ soccer team secured a spot in the championship game with a 7-2 victory over Epping. Ashlee Brehio registered a hat trick while Loren Charron (2 goals), Kali Murdough and Brooke Carlson also scored.

College standouts

Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack) picked up her third shutout of the season to help the Rivier College women’s soccer team knock off Plymouth State, 1-0. Goodspeed finished with 11 saves.

Mary Annon (Concord) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women’s soccer team was named to the all-conference second team in the Commonwealth Coastal Conference. Annon finished the season with nine points and has started 68 of the 76 games she’s played in her career.

Events

Franklin High School will be celebrating New Hampshire Tackles Hunger at its final home football game on Saturday. The game starts at 1:30 p.m. and admission is free with a non-perishable food item. All proceeds will go to the Twin Rivers Food Pantry on Central Street in Franklin.

Hillsboro-Deering High School fall sports awards will given out on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in the HDHS gym. After awards each team will go to its own breakout room. Breakout rooms are as follows: girls’ soccer (gymnasium), boys’ soccer (library), volleyball (cafeteria), cross country (room 102), golf (room 221), bass fishing (gymnasium).

The Concord High Wrestling Hall of Fame will induct six members on Nov. 26 in a 6 p.m. event at Beaver Meadow Country Club – Josh Saxby, Brad Carter, James Warner, Derrick McDuffy, and Angus and Christine Boezeman. For information contact Nick Zeras at 603-785-9705.

UNH ski program, in conjunction with SkiNH.com and Learfield, is offering a limited number of discount ticket packages for alpine and Nordic ski areas throughout the state for the 2016-17 season. Players needed

The Concord Capital Soccer Club is looking for one or two elite players for its 12U and 14U teams. The 14U team is looking for an experienced goalkeeper willing to play at the highest level in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. New Hampshire High School Softball Coaches' Association is sponsoring a conference and clinic for any softball coaches and players of all levels on Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at NHTI. Registration fee for coaches is $50 postmarked by Dec. 19 or $65 at the door. Registration fee for players is $150 postmarked by Dec. 19 or $160 postmarked after Dec. 20. USTA team tennis winter leagues are being offered in Concord for 12U, 14U and 18U levels.
