It’s that time of year again, the time when we reveal the final totals of the Hillsboro Challenge, our annual fundraiser for the Hillsboro District Food Pantry.

First of all, I would like to thank the businesses that supported us with their pledges: Ming Du Restaurant, Mama McDonough’s Irish Pub, Carparts of Hillsboro, Becky Johnson/Home Cook’s Pantry, Butch Amadio/Amadio’s Insurance, Holt Woodbury Funeral Home, Family Dollar, Knapton Reade & Woods Agency, Inc., Hillsboro Ford, Inc., and Hillsboro C.D.J.R. We were also supported by many organizations including the Hillsboro-Deering Federation of Teachers, Valley Bible Chapel, St. Marys Church, Hillsboro United, Bank of New Hampshire, Hillsboro Deering Support Staff, Osram Sylvania Employee Association, Employees of N.H. Ball Bearing, Knights of Columbus, and the Hillsboro Lions Club.

There were also personal donations from Sue McPhee, Sam and Valerie Sorrels, Colby and Theodore Millspaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Morse, Carl and Debra Moshey, Judith Hatfield, Richard and Pauline Smith, Robert and Diane Downward, Clare and James Fedolfi, Richard Head, Melinda Gehris, Linda Stellato, Chris and Janet Sieg, Norma Webster, Michael and Gloria Reopel, Sonia and Donald Dibuono, Nancy Shee, Sue McPhee clients, Pauline Beard, Jane Dutton, Scott and Lorraine Myers, Alberta Simpson, Walter and Marlies Rudermacher, Mary and Paul Plater, Anne and Richard Morrissette, Holly and Shawn Mooney, Veda O’Neill, and Ms. Olson.

Due to the generosity and kindness of all these people, organizations and businesses, this was our best year ever. The grand total was $25,319.51, and the totals were distributed as follows: pledges $1,170, monetary donations $13,799.51, and food/personal care items valued at $1 per can or item $10,350.

Thank you so much for all your support.
