Professional gardener to host art talk in Lakes Region

The Lakes Region Art Association will host an event Jan. 15 at 7 p.m., with Art Talk speaker Reia Marie Bustolin.  Reia Marie has been a professional gardener for 17 years.

After attending one year of school at Montserrat College of Fine Art and 2 years of horticultural science through the Essex agricultural extension in Danvers, Mass., she finished her bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture at Goddard College in Vermont. Following graduation, she received a certificate in soil microbiology through Dr. Elaine Ingham – Soil Food Web and obtained a permaculture design certificate through the Permaculture Institute. Since then, Reia has settled her homestead in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire with her husband João. They currently own and operate the ecological garden design company “Speakeasy Gardens.”

Meetings are held at the Lakes Region Art Gallery, 120 Laconia Rd., Tanger Outlets, Suite 300, Tilton.
