State-sanctioned murder

Gov. Chris Sununu has declared that he is strongly against any effort to eliminate the state’s death penalty should an intelligent, bipartisan group of lawmakers back a measure that would repeal capital punishment. I was shocked that he plans to veto the bill if it passes.

I’ve worked with offenders so am not approaching this naively. The death penalty is not a deterrent, there is risk of executing the wrong person, and it models that it is okay to kill another human being under certain circumstances.

Supporting the death penalty is condoning murder.
