Torres’ homer leads Trenton to 4-2 win over New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Gleyber Torres hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, leading the Trenton Thunder to a 4-2 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday.

Cale Coshow got Emilio Guerrero to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his ninth save of the season.

The home run by Torres scored Thairo Estrada and was the game’s last scoring play.

In the bottom of the fourth, New Hampshire took the lead on a home run by Harold Ramirez that scored Anthony Alford. Trenton answered in the sixth inning when Jake Cave hit a sacrifice fly and Miguel Andujar hit an RBI single.

Starter Yefry Ramirez (5-0) got the win while Chris Rowley (0-1) took the loss in relief in the Eastern League game.

Trenton improved to 7-1 against New Hampshire this season.
