UNH men’s soccer falls at No. 2 Indiana in third round of NCAA tournament

A memorable season for the University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team has come to an end.

The Wildcats were defeated at No. 2 Indiana, 2-1, on Saturday night during the third round of the NCAA tournament.

Freshman Jacob Gould, an Exeter native, scored only the fifth goal Indiana has allowed all season to cut the deficit in half in the 77th minute, but the eight-time national champion Hoosiers (17-0-5) closed out the victory over the ’Cats (13-4-5).

Cory Thomas and Francesco Moore each scored a goal for Indiana.

New Hampshire outshot the Hoosiers, 8-7.
