The United Way’s 25th Annual Day of Caring volunteers braved the pouring rain around Merrimack County to help out local nonprofits with sweat equity projects. General Electric in Hooksett sent out a group of employees to help out Back in the Saddle Equine Therapy Center in Hopkinton with farm mucking, arena clearing and horse exercising around their facility.

Over 500 volunteers from local businesses canvassed Merrimack County to help out at the New Hampshire Audubon, John T. Whitaker Place, Families in Transition, the Penacook Community Center and Live and Let Live Farm.

The Day of Caring event gathered at the Kiwanis Riverfront Park in Concord for a campaign kickoff luncheon and speakers including Gov. Chris Sununu.
