The town of Webster will hold a public hearing on the proposed town budget on Tuesday, giving residents an opportunity to weigh in on the warrant articles and town spending before Town Meeting in March.

The proposed operating budget for 2023-2024 is $2.29 million, which represents a 0.5% decrease from the current budget. If the budget and warrant articles are approved, the estimated town tax rate would be $6.23 cents, a 9.7% decrease from the current year’s tax rate of $6.9 cents.

Webster, which has a traditional town meeting system, will hold its annual meeting on March 18 for the public to vote on the budget and warrant articles.

The budget hearing will begin at 6 p.m. in the Grange Hall at Town Hall, 945 Battle St.
