Humorist pokes fun at local stereotypes

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Comedian Ken Sheldon, who performs as Fred Marple, will take his show to the Franklin Opera House on Saturday.

Fred discusses small-town life – where everyone knows your business before you do. Then there are the people themselves from the cheapskate ... umm … thrifty native to the affluent transplant. It’s a place where baked beans and vegetables boiled with corned beef are haute cuisine and flannel shirts never go out of style.

Sheldon has appeared on New Hampshire Chronicle, in Yankee Magazine and on his own variety show Frost Heaves.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 to $14 and are available online at franklinoperahouse.org or by calling 934-1901.
