Jenna Lewis and her fellow Saboga castaways were saved from another immunity challenge loss last night when Jenna M. decided to leave the competition to be with her ailing mother.

February 12, 2004 - 10:19 pm

Just as the Survivor: All Stars players were about to perform some cooperative feat in order to avoid the dreaded tribal council, Jenna M. told host Jeff Probst she needed to go home. Within minutes, a boat was there to take her away as her tribe-mates wiped their tears against a dramatic, moaning soundtrack. Her departure meant the immunity challenge was canceled.

Before Jenna M.'s departure, the bulk of the show followed the three tribes-Chapera, Saboga and Mogo Mogo - as they tried their best to win a one-day house-building contest. Armed with a crate full of Home Depot hand tools, each of the

tribes designed and constructed a shelter they hoped would win them a prize: a chance to find a key to fit the second lock on the thrice-locked box of rice they received during last week's show.

After naked Richard wrestled with a shark - it bit his upper arm, he bit it back then smashed its head on a rock and fed it to his tribe - Mogo Mogo began building its multi-level tree-house, complete with a deck and kitchen area. Chapera, led by Boston Rob's construction expertise, made a solid shelter with benches, picnic tables and a wood floor.

Jenna's tribe, at Rupert's advice, decided to build a log cabin. After Rupert and Jerri argued about whether or not the cabin should be set into a dugout in the sand, Rupert started digging. As night fell, his shovel hit a tree trunk that would prove impossible to unearth. More fighting and tension ensued. Jenna's eyes grew wide with discomfort, but she didn't make a peep.

The next day, a Panamanian contractor arrived to judge the building efforts. Mogo Mogo and Chapera got smiles and nods. But the contractor was visibly displeased with Saboga's effort, telling Probst that a high tide would leave the cabin flooded.

Chapera won the big prize - a mattress, a tarp and a bottle of wine that made Amber and Boston Rob extra cuddly. Mogo Mogo won a clue to the rice box key. And Saboga, glum as ever, got nothing.
