December 09, 2004 - 10:58 pm

The state Board of Education will accept public input on its educational reform plan at hearings scheduled over the next three months.

The first is scheduled for Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Department of Education offices in Concord. Starting at 4 p.m., Bramante plans to provide an overview of the proposal and answer questions.

Hearings also are scheduled Jan. 12 in Littleton, Jan. 19 in Swanzey, Jan. 26 in Nashua and Feb. 8 in Dover.

After the public hearings, Bramante said, the state Board of Education has time to revise the proposed standards before presenting them to the Joint Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules.

If lawmakers approve the new school standards, they could be adopted by mid- to late June.
