SALISBURY - Joy A. (Sanborn) Chamberlin, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Mont.

She was born Sept. 20, 1933, in New London, the daughter of Charles W. Sanborn and Ruby Sanborn.

Mrs. Chamberlin grew up in Andover and was a 1951 graduate of the former Andover High School. In 1982, she graduated from Concord Technical College with an associate degree in accounting.

She was formerly employed at the Yankee Peddler and the Salisbury Post Office. She is a member of the Bartlett Grange in Salisbury and was a former trustee of the Salisbury Free Library.

She was also a member of the Andover Service Club.

Joy lived in Salisbury from 1958 to 1997. She then moved to Andover until 2004, when she moved to Helena, Mont., to be near her daughter and family.

She is the widow of David C. Chamberlin, who died Aug. 23, 1995.

She is survived by three sons, William C. Chamberlin of East Andover, Mark D. Chamberlin of Alexandria and Matthew S. Chamberlin of Alexandria; three daughters, Mollye A. Gauer of Helena, Mont., Melissa K. Cheney of Andover and Meriellen E. Joga of Castle Rock, Colo.; two brothers, Kenneth H. Hazen of Warner and Peter A. Chamberlin of Warner; a stepbrother, Stephen J. Chamberlin of Fairfax, Vt.; a stepsister, Ruth M. Chamberlin of Greenfield, Mass.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins

The family invites friends and family to a celebration of Joy's life at the Salisbury Town Hall, Route 4 in Salisbury, on Sept. 29 at noon.

Memories and pictures are welcome and will be shared at a potluck buffet.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Mills Cemetery in Salisbury.

Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Salisbury Free Library, P.O. Box 182, Salisbury 03268.

H.L. Young Memorial Home in Franklin is in charge of the arrangements.
