FRANKLIN - Mrs. Elizabeth L. Hoadley, 83, of South Main Street, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at home.

She was born in Lowell, Vt., the daughter of William Elias Gardner Hoadley and Myrtie Ann Cushing Hoadley.

She was raised in Lowell, Vt., and later lived in North Stratford and Tilton before moving to Franklin in 1988. She was a graduate of Newport High School.

During World War II, she served with the U.S. Navy as a nurse.

Following her military service, she worked as a nurse in the family nursing home in West Franklin and later at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.

She traveled throughout the United States over the years and enjoyed motorcycles. She also wrote poetry. She was the widow of Donald H. Noyes, who died in 1972.

Family members include her five children, Wilhemina Millis of Canterbury, Donald H. Noyes of Franklin, Terry David Noyes of Laconia, Peter M. Noyes of Farmington and Stella M. Noyes of Franklin; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St. in Franklin.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday before the service.

Interment will be held at a later date at New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250.
