The Concord Regional Crimeline is requesting tips to help solve a break-in and theft at the Washington Street School in Penacook.
According to the police, burglars broke into the school on the evening of March 3, rummaged through desks and stole a Canon digital video camcorder, a Canon Powershot camera, a set of keys and a small amount of cash. The combined value of the stolen items is more than $500, the police said.
The burglars also appear to have vandalized the school.
This is the second Merrimack Valley School District robbery in recent weeks. The police are also asking for help solving a burglary at the Merrimack Valley High School during the February vacation.
The burglars in that case stole three MacBook laptops, worth a combined $2,400, and smeared feces on computer screens in the high school auditorium, the police said.
Anyone with information about either crime can call the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100, submit information at the website concordregionalcrimeline.com or text "tip234" with their tip to CRIMES. Crimeline tips remain anonymous, and the program pays rewards to anyone whose information leads to arrest and indictment of criminals.
