KERRI GOUPIL of Manchester has joined NHTI, Concord's Community College, as a full-time professor of nursing. She is an AACN certified medical/surgical nurse. In addition, these members of the faculty have received promotions: AARON CONN, associate professor of information technology; VALERIE LAVOICE, professor of mathematics; PATRICIA LENZA, associate professor of diagnostic medical imaging; MARGARET RAY, associate professor of allied dental education; KHATEREH SAWAL, professor of mathematics; LISA SCOTT, associate professor of allied dental education; and DAN SHAGENA, professor of mathematics.

DAVID BURNS of Concord recently spoke on a panel at a seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute called "A Roadmap Through Divorce Proceedings." Burns practices law in Concord, focusing on divorce, family law and estate planning. He is an adjunct faculty member at Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord.

LAURIE FARMER of Webster has been appointed hospice director of social work, spiritual care and bereavement services at Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association. Farmer joined the agency as a hospice social worker in July 2000.

MELINDA GEHRIS of Hillsboro was recently re-elected co-chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. She is co-owner of Hess Gehris Solutions, a mediation practice in Bow. MATTHEW BENSON of Concord, of Cook, Little, Rosenblatt and Manson in Manchester, was re-elected co-chair of the bar association's Corporation, Banking and Business Law Section; MAUREEN SMITH of Hopkinton, of Orr and Reno in Concord, was elected co-chair of the bar association's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section; ANDREW EILLS of Concord, of Hinckley, Allen and Snyder in Concord, was elected co-chair of the bar association's Health Law Section; STEVEN WHITLEY of Concord, of Baldwin and Callen of Concord, was elected co-chair of the bar association's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section; DANIEL CREAN of Pembroke, of Crean Law Office of Pembroke, was elected vice chair of the bar association's Municipal and Government Law Section; CHARLES HOLOUBEK of Concord, of Holoubek Law in Concord, was elected vice chair of the bar association's Intellectual Property Law Section; and BETH DERAGON of Bow, of Gallagher, Callahan and Gartrell of Concord, was re-elected vice chair of the bar association's International Law Section.

JIM DEMERS of Concord and JIM MERRILL of Manchester were recently elected to serve three-year terms as board members for the Political Library. CY GREGG was elected vice chair. Demers is the president of The Demers Group, a state government affairs firm in Concord. Merrill is the managing director of Devine Strategies, a business and political consulting firm in Concord.
