HOPKINTON - James F. Jordan, 49, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, after a long illness.

Mr. Jordan was born in Cortland, N.Y., to Paul and Joyce (Towers) Jordan. He was a longtime employee of Herrick Mill Works in Contoocook.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing horseshoes in local tournaments. He also loved walking and biking. He enjoyed interacting regularly with all sorts of wildlife, including raccoons, porcupines, snakes and alligators.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his companion of more than 25 years, Cindy Grenier of Webster; two daughters, Chastity Golio and her husband, James, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Katie Jordan and her boyfriend, Christopher Caron, of Andover; two brothers, John Conklin of Hopkinton and Danny Jordan of New York; two sisters, Yvonne O'Shea of Virgil, N.Y., and Paula Terry of Virginia; three grandchildren, Kira Jordan, James Golio Jr. and Bobby Golio, all of Lehigh, Fla.; a nephew, who was like a son, Chet Charlton and his wife, Rachel; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will not be held.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.

A celebration of life reception will follow at Webster Town Hall, 945 Battle St., Webster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association Hospice House Program, 250 Pleasant St., P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302; or to the Payson Center, c/o Concord Hospital Office of Philanthropy, 250 Pleasant St., Concord 03301.
