Middle school

The Hopkinton Middle School boys' cross country team finished 14th in the Small School Division at the State Championships. Declan Campbell led the Hawks through the rain and Colby Tawney, Chris Barnard and Kyle Tworek also ran well.

• The Hopkinton Middle School girls' cross country team placed ninth at the State Championship meet. Sarah Nadeau finished fifth overall for the Hawks and was followed by Katie Irwin, Courtney Crouch and Aimee Echelberger.

Freshman results

The Concord freshmen football team improved to 6-3 with a 32-16 win over Manchester Memorial. The Crimson Tide was led by Tolbert Nemos's four touchdowns and two interceptions. Cody Ferns also added his first touchdown and played well defensively. Gordon Hollingsworth (interception) and Casey Goodsell (sack) anchored the defense.

Youth hockey

The Concord Capitals AT&T Wireless Mite 2 team lost to the NH Avalanche, 7-1. Zach Painchaud scored Concord's only goal. Emily Forward and Haley Hildreth played well and Parker Taylor made 22 saves.

Tilton results

The Tilton School field hockey team tied Hebron Academy, 1-1. Kiah Murphy scored Tilton's only goal on a penalty corner. Mackenzie Hurst recorded the assist. Morgan Foley played well on defense.

St. Paul's results

The St. Paul's School boys' soccer team defeated Milton Academy, 3-2. Sam Rives notched a goal and an assist, while Alaister Norton scored the game-winner with 20 minutes to play on a penalty kick. The Big Red improved to 3-6-1 in league play, 3-8-1 overall.

UNH news

The Manchester Millrats drafted two recent graduates of the University of New Hampshire basketball program. Point guard Eric Gilchrese was selected eighth overall, while shooting guard Tyrece Gibbs was chosen with the 17th pick.

NEC results

The New England College field hockey team downed Southern Maine, 4-3. Samantha Escobar scored two goals.
