Up-and-coming opera stars from across the United States and beyond will be in Concord this weekend for the 3rd annual New Hampshire Opera Idol. The final round of this year's competition will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium and will feature an impressive panel of judges from opera programs across New England.

Last year's winner, Nelson Ebo, an Angolan refugee who stunned judges and audiences with his rich tenor voice, will perform. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. Opera enthusiasts are also invited to watch auditions at the at Concordia Lutheran Church on Friday from 3 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information, call the Lakes Region Opera Company at 875-1917 or visit lakesregionopera.com.
