The last of five people who conspired to rob the Franklin Savings Bank at gunpoint and get away on snowmobiles was sentenced in U.S. Federal Court yesterday.
Dylan Mallory, 23, formerly of Gilmanton, received a sentence of 37 months in federal prison from Judge Steven McAuliffe for his role in the Febuary 2007 robbery.
Mallory conducted surveillance on the bank before the robbery and was the lookout for convicted co-conspirator Cory Donovan, 27, of Laconia, prosecutors said. Donovan was convicted last year of pointing a Kel-Tec Sub2000 carbine rifle at a teller while demanding money. Another co-conspirator, Ian Burns, 25, of Gilmanton, was waiting nearby with an AR-15 rifle in case the police gave chase.
After the money was stolen, Mallory and his co-conspirators went to the mobile home of Jay Lawrence in Meredith, where they split the cash and destroyed evidence. Mallory was given $1,000, according to Asssistant U.S. Attorney Terry Ollila, who prosecuted the case.
