MY FAVORITE MOVIE was Indochine, a French film of 1992 vintage. Catherine Deneuve, Vincent Perez, Dominque Blanc and Henri Marteau perform exquisitely in the truly authentic period backdrop set against political upheaval in French Indochina during the 1930s. Deneuve plays a wealthy French landowner who has raised an orphaned Indochinese girl and must contend with the fact that she has grown - and has a mind of her own. Extremely interesting historical elements set against a fascinating landscape. This film nabbed the French foreign film Oscar. It is rated PG-13.
