Linda Turner Norris, 61, of Dover Street in Concord, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2009, after her courageous two year battle with ALS.
Linda was born Oct. 1, 1948, in South Amboy, N.J., to Elmer and Marion (Beal) Turner. She graduated from Howard Hoffman High School in South Amboy, N.J., New England College in Henniker with a bachelor's degree in education and Plymouth University with a master's degree in education.
Linda married Walter E. Norris on June 26, 1971. She retired after 21 years as an eighth-grade math teacher at Merrimack Valley Middle School.
She enjoyed summering at the family cottage on Barker Pond in Hiram, Maine. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoyed hiking, cross-country skiing, rock climbing and snow shoeing. She especially enjoyed throwing parties and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.
Linda is survived by her husband of 38 years; her two sons, Todd Norris of Hiram, Maine, and Scott E. Norris and his wife, Kathryn, of Nashua.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at South Congregational Church, 27 Pleasant St., Concord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association of Northern New England, c/o Team Norris.
