What does a frolicking dog have to do with environmentalism? We have no idea. But it's one of the featured stars of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, which comes to Red River Theatres tomorrow night. The festival, which will play at nearly 100 venues across the country this year, features six films ranging from five to 50 minutes long.
Along with a five-minute flick called Water Loving Doggies II, there's a whitewater adventure film, a riff on America's obsession with green lawns, a peek at a tiny island nation that's home to the world's largest marine reserve and a sober look at the ramifications of our energy lust. The festival is presented locally by the New Hampshire Rivers Council and runs from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow night. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at redrivertheatres.org.
Rivers Council members are invited to a catered reception starting at 5 p.m., and the council if offering a special $30 year-long membership package that includes two tickets to the film festival as well as the member reception, with live music, refreshments and a raffle. For membership forms and information, visit nhrivers.org.
