Bud Holloway scored with 8:36 left in the game to lift the Manchester Monarchs to a 2-1 victory over the Albany River Rats last night. The Monarchs improved their Atlantic Division-leading record to 12-4-1-2.
Holloway scored off assists from Oscar Moller and Joe Piskula.
Manchester's Gabe Gauthier opened the scoring midway through the second period on feeds from Viatcheslav Voynov and Andrei Loktionov.
Steven Goertzen responded early in the third period for the River Rats right before a fight broke out between Manchester's Kevin Westgarth and Albany's Zack FitzGerald.
Jonathan Bernier earned the win for Manchester with 33 saves, while Mike Murphy took the loss for Albany with 36 saves.
Manchester returns to the ice today against the Lowell Devils on the road at 1:30 p.m. The Monarchs return home Friday night against Springfield at 7:30.
