BOSCAWEN - It is with sadness that the family announces that Della Bergeron Hardy, 48, went to join her mother, Jeannette Cunningham, and her father, Roland Bergeron and other family members in the early hours of Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009.
She was born and raised in Berlin, where she attended the local schools and was a 1979 graduate from Berlin High School. After high school, Della earned her certified nursing assistant degree and worked as a medical billing and coding specialist for many years for such companies as Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Hampshire, Healthsource and Cigna.
Della enjoyed being a mother and the beauty of flowers, especially yellow daisies. She was very passionate about running.
Della is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph A. Hardy; and their four children, Joseph E., Jordan, Jeannette and Julianna Hardy. Ms. Hardy leaves a network of countless friends and a huge family to cherish the amazing, lovely life she led. She is also survived by her stepfather, Tim Cunningham of Sun City Center, Fla.; stepmother, Claire Bergeron, of Berlin; and brothers and sisters and their families, David Bergeron of Dallas, Diane and Bob Hoops of McKinney, Texas, Debra and David Jerszyk of Manchester, Daniel and Dena Bergeron of Manchester, Dawn and George Gentuso of Hampton, Joanne Ross of Berlin, Mike Ross of Berlin, Stephen Ross of Colebrook, David Ross of West Milan, Scotty Ross of Gorham, Ryan Cunningham of Roanoke, Va., and Erin Hodges of Vinton, Va.
We pass along her spirit when we honor the dignity of every person and delight in the wonder of life. Her rejoicing in the smallest of things will be terribly missed.
Please gather with us tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. to pay tribute at Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 135 N. State St., Concord. A reception will immediately follow at the Horace Chace Lodge, 53 Main St., Boscawen.
Although we all know Della loved fresh flowers, in an effort to honor Della's love of family and social issues that affected her community, the Hardy children feel that support of the following organizations in lieu of flowers will have a more lasting effect after the vases are put away: CASA for Children in New Hampshire, casanh.org/donate/personaldonation; and AL-ANON and ALATEEN of New Hampshire, nhal-anon.org/OutsideLinks.html.
