The Concord Police say this man used a credit card stolen from a Roy Street home Oct. 21.

The police are trying to identify a man who shopped at Walmart with a credit card stolen the same day from a home on Roy Street along with more than $4,000 worth of property.

The man, whose image was captured by Walmart security cameras, used the credit card to pay for $250 worth of goods during an Oct. 21 shopping trip, according to the Concord police. He made the purchase at 12:35 p.m., shortly after the police responded to reports of a burglary on Roy Street.

That morning, between 7:45 and noon, someone entered the home by breaking a window and forcing open the door, then stole items including a violin, jewelry, cell phones, an iPod, a Compaq laptop, and Canon and Sony cameras, as well as personal identification and credit cards.

The suspect who used the stolen card at Walmart is described as a black man in his late 30s. That day, he was wearing blue jeans, a tan shirt and a baseball cap, the police said.

The police didn't say what the man bought at the store or specify how many people they think may have been involved in burglarizing the Roy Street home.

Anyone with information about the man in the surveillance photos or the crime is asked to contact the police. Tips can be shared anonymously with the Concord Regional Crimeline by calling 226-3100, by visiting concordregionalcrimeline.com, or by texting TIP234 and sending a message to CRIMES.
