Henderson Alvarez allowed two runs in seven innings and Mike McDade and Travis d'Arnaud each drove in two runs as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats topped the Binghamton Mets, 4-2, last night.
Alvarez (5-4) was making his first start since appearing in the MLB Futures Game last weekend in Arizona. He worked five scoreless innings before allowing back-to-back home runs by Binghamton All-Stars Jordany Valdespin and Josh Satin.
The Fisher Cats continue the series in Binghamton tonight at 7:05. Chad Beck (7-2, 3.36) gets the start for Hampshire.
