I have made images of Mount Washington in the distance from around the White Mountains, but this is my first attempt to reverse the view and see some of those spots from the summit of New England's highest point. While on the summit to photograph a trip to the Mount Washington Observatory with columnist Tim O'Shea I made a number of shots, but this one stood out.
The crisp, clear weather gave 100-mile visibility. Low winds and temperatures somewhere above zero made shooting bearable and made spending time on the summit cone leisurely instead of desperate. Staff artist Charlotte Thibault saw the image and thought it would be fun to identify some of the more prominent spots that are visible. I wish I knew which one was Oak Hill in Concord.
