It's nice to see the Monitor reporting on the wide variety of activities Free State Project participants are involved in. In the last week, three diverse activities have been reported on: national political finance, non-political activism and local candidacy.
On April 22, the Monitor reported that the Republican presidential campaign of Ron Paul drew heavily from donors associated with the libertarian Free State Project. This indicates some Free State Project participants might prefer donating money, in this case to a political campaign.
What the Monitor didn't mention was that Paul is second in first-quarter funds raised from New Hampshire among all the Republicans, ahead of John McCain and Rudy Giuliani.
On April 26, the Monitor reported that for some members of the Free State Project, who see the Brown tax evasion case as a classic example of government overreaching, the marshal's warning was little deterrent. Not all Free State Project participants share the views of those you reported on.
You also reported that day that Irena Goddard, Free State Project board member, is running for city council.
Though some would like to stereotype Free Staters, there is no stereotypical personality, focus or type of activities they participate in. None of the activities above are endorsed by the Free State Project, whose mission is simply to attract pro-liberty activists to New Hampshire.
