Sitter charged with beating baby

A Candia baby sitter has been charged with beating an 8-month-old baby in her care.
The boy remains hospitalized in critical condition with brain injuries.
The police said Elizabeth L. Torrey, 26, was charged with first-degree assault Saturday.
Authorities said she was taking care of more than one child at her home when the baby was injured.
The police told the Union Leader that a neighbor called 911 on June 9 after Torrey ran out of her home, calling for help.
The baby's name has not been released.
