A Concord woman is facing felony charges after police say she shot a man with a BB gun at a homeless camp earlier this month.

Kaitlin Cook, 34, is being charged with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, all felony charges.

Around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, police were called to a report of a man laying down on I-93 northbound near the Exit 13 on-ramp, near Manchester Street, police said in a press release.

The man, who was visibly bleeding, told authorities that he had been shot, according to police. He was then taken to Concord Hospital where he was found to have serious, life-threatening injuries.

After speaking to witnesses and collecting evidence, police said they narrowed in on Cook as the individual who they believed shot the man at Healy Park, which is located off Basin Street.

An arrest warrant was obtained on Friday, and Cook was arrested on Tuesday, with a court date scheduled later in the day.
